Q8botOne

ZeroWire Robotics' production version of the palm-sized Q8bot quadruped, announced for Crowd Supply; no design files are released yet.

What it is

Q8botOne is the production version of Q8bot from ZeroWire Robotics, whose team page lists Q8bot's author Yufeng Wu. The Crowd Supply page describes a palm-sized, wire-free quadruped: eight DYNAMIXEL XL-series smart actuators plugged straight into a central PCB, an ESP32-C3-MINI-N4 microcontroller, a protected rechargeable Li-ion battery, a Qwiic-compatible sensor connector and a UART port for a co-processor, with MJF-printed linkages and ball-bearing joints, sold fully assembled with a pre-paired controller dongle. ZeroWire says Q8botOne will be fully open source: the mechanical design is in Onshape, and the hardware and software files will be hosted under the ZeroWireRobotics GitHub organization and made public after the campaign ends. On 2026-10-02 the campaign page read Coming Soon, the organization had no public repositories and no price was published, so nothing can be built from source yet; Crowd Supply points to the original Q8bot repository as a reference for the kinds of files that will be released.

The sources do not publish a cost total.

No itemized bill of materials is published in the sources, so none is shown here.

  • The campaign page lists the robot's main components (8 DYNAMIXEL XL-series actuators, ESP32-C3-MINI-N4, Li-ion battery, Qwiic connector, UART port, MJF-printed linkages, ball-bearing joints) but publishes no BOM, quantities beyond the actuator count, or price. zerowire-robotics/q8botone

Builds

0 reviewed

No reviewed builds of Q8botOne yet.

A build log records the evidence (photos, a video, your repository), what the build cost, how long it took and what you changed. Each one is checked by Motari (until a maintainer claims this page) before it shows here, and reviewed builds count toward the reproducibility score.

How this page was made

Assembled from public sources on 2026-10-02, not yet reviewed by the maintainer. Each figure links to where it is stated; a value the sources do not state reads "not published". Not fully met yet: cad / mesh present, bom evidence, wiring diagram, firmware linked, build instructions, oshw-compatible license. The score is read from the project's own sources, so publishing what is missing is what raises it. A score of 90 or more needs a reviewed build. How the score is computed
